This blog is about dogs [cur-dogs, stockdogs, pit bulls], and also about wild birds, mountain lions, earthquakes, reptiles, wildfires, water policy, graphic design, architecture, food, farming and good reads, with occasional posts on the jagged and the shiny.
About me
I live in Southern California with some border collies, a young cur-dog and an even younger cur-dog. My wonderful old pit bull Bounce died on March 25, 2011 - best dog ever. Like most of my dogs, she came from the excellent local shelter. [To see more pound pups, check out the Pet Harbor widget in the opposite sidebar.]
California native: family's been here since the 1800s.
The dog in the lower right corner of the screen is my sister's pug, Lily. Click on Lily for a quick return to the top of the page.
